Assessment Weeks at The Westleigh School

During Assessment Week, all students will take part in a programme of examinations and tests designed to assess their progress and understanding across their subjects.

Students will receive an individual timetable detailing the dates and times of their assessments.

We encourage all parents and carers to support their child in preparing for this important period by helping them maintain positive daily routines, ensuring they are well rested, and encouraging regular revision and study at home. Working together, we can help students approach their assessments with confidence and achieve their best.

Next Assessment Week

The next assessments will be held the week commencing Monday 22nd June 2026.

During Assessment Week, students will finish school earlier than usual at 2:00 pm each day. Please note that local bus services do not have the capacity to alter their schedules for this week. Therefore, students who normally travel home by bus will need to make alternative arrangements for transport at 2:00 pm or remain on site until their usual bus departure time. For those who need to wait, the school will provide a supervised room where students can stay safely and work quietly until their bus arrives. We would be grateful if parents and carers could discuss arrangements with their child in advance to ensure a smooth and safe end to the school day.

Attendance During Assessment Week

Excellent attendance during Assessment Week is essential, as assessments provide valuable opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding and help teachers accurately identify progress and any areas requiring further support.

We strongly encourage families to ensure that students attend school every day during this period and avoid arranging appointments, holidays, or other absences wherever possible. Missing an assessment can place students at a disadvantage and may limit the information available to inform future teaching and learning. Regular attendance will help students complete all assessments as scheduled and perform to the best of their ability.
