Our vision for Teaching & Learning

Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do at Westleigh. Our teachers are incredibly passionate about providing lessons that engage and excite students in learning. We strive for learning to be deeply embedded in memory. This can only happen if teaching is stimulating and meets the needs of all learners.
Teachers strive to make learning as fun and real as possible; combining subject knowledge and skills with experiences outside the classroom. Using our creativity and experience, we make learning as interactive as possible for ALL learners. Confidence in reading is our number one priority as we prepare students for new style examinations and equip them with the vital literacy skills they’ll need for life after Westleigh.
We endeavour to stretch all students to reach their full potential, removing the barriers to learning that may stand in their way. The classroom culture that is built by our teachers provides students with opportunities that build confidence and raise self-esteem.
